Retrofit Concept
The ventilation system was renovated in 2001. The old mechanical ventilation system was replaced with a mechanical supply and exhaust ventilation system.

Building Construction
No measures during this project. The roof was renovated in 1989.

Heating / Ventilation / Cooling and Lighting Systems
No changes in heating and lightnig systems. The new ventilation sytem is mechanical air supply and exhaust ventilation system with heat recovery and pre-heating of supply air. No cooling or humidifiers. Air flows were sized using guide values from the National Building Code of Finland:
Classrooms: 5 l/s, person (20 persons)

When the outdoor air temperature is more than -17 °C, the air flow rate values for single rooms can be temporarily reduced 50 % to lower the heating equipment output below the design rate.
